The Movement lineup for Monday afternoon was a little weak to start; plus, we had to be back to reality on Tuesday – including a long drive back to Toronto, so we spent part of the day reveling in Visionquest’s annual Need I Say More party at The Old Miami.
Even though it was our first Movement festival, the Detroit crew’s party is a legendary closing jam, and as soon as we walked into the backyard of the dive bar, we knew this was a wicked way to end a great weekend. Hosted at The Old Miami – a cross between a dive bar and a veteran’s firehall of sorts, it has hosted the Memorial Day party every year of Movement.
The party starts at 7am and runs to 7pm. The lineup was stacked with some of our favourite acts from the weekend: Maya Jane Coles, Maceo Plex, dOP, and Benoit & Sergio amongst others. The vibe was thick and it was great to see some many familiar faces that we’d met over the weekend including many DJs and producers supporting their fellow industry friends. Even though we missed Major Lazer, araabMUZIK, Dillon Francis, and Keys N Krates, it was clear that everyone found this to be the perfect way to end a great weekend down at Movement in Detroit and we can’t wait for next year!
